Retrospective: Matilda 11 months

At 11 months Matilda learned even more words, got her 7th tooth, and is practicing walking!

We drove to South Dakota to visit Great Grandma Shirley again:


And saw great aunt Lois:


Had lunch in the Wisconsin Dells--Matilda enjoyed tomatoes and black olives!


She tried hard to help Mommy:


And continued to explore:

Retrospective: Matilda 10 months

At 10 months Matilda mastered crawling and figured out how to get into all sorts of trouble:


And mischeif:


And we fought back:




The weather got nice and she played outside:


She also learned many new words--hi, cup, ball, daddy, and guys to name a few, and got 2 more teeth!

Retrospective: Matilda 9 months

At 9 months old Matilda got mobile, beginning with a sneaky little army crawl that landed her under the couch:


We took a train trip to Washington D.C. On the train she said her first words "I see it!" while pointing out the window--that's right, her first words were a sentence!


And we visited Williamsburg, VA:

Retrospective: Matilda 8 months

At 8 months old Matilda learned a new trick:


Got more teeth (4 total now!):


Took her first airplane ride:


Went swimming:


And went to the beach:

Retrospective: Matilda 7 months

7 months was all about trying new foods, like peas:


And all the homemade purees Mommy made:


We celebrated Valentine's Day:


She started taking baths in the big girl tub:


And Mommy and Daddy made Matilda into a big sister:

Retrospective: Matilda 6 months

When Matilda was 6 months old she moved into her own room:


She copied Mommy and Daddy:


She got her first cloth diapers:


She sat in a chair like a big girl out at restaurants... sort of:


And she tried her first food--prunes!

Retrospective: Matilda 5 months

When Matilda was 5 months old she met Santa:


She mastered sitting:


She played in the snow:


She celebrated her first Christmas (she had tons of fun, recieved many toys and outfits, and even got one of her 2 front teeth--bottom left):


And she met her friend, Hailey, for the first time (Hailey's mommy and I met while we were both expecting--Hailey was born on July 2, 2008!)

Retrospective: Matilda 4 months

When Matilda was 4 months old she voted:


She celebrated her first Thanksgiving:


She wore her first pair of jeans:


She recieved her first baby doll:


And she began to sit up on her own:

Retrospective: Matilda 3 months

When Matilda was 3 months old she took her first vacation. We went up to Door County and went out for a fish boil.


She went pumpkin picking with mommy and daddy.


She rolled over for the first time.


She dressed up as a chili pepper for Halloween.


And she got her "office" to play with.

Retrospective: Matilda 2 months

When Matilda was 2 months old, football season started and she faithfully watched the Badgers with Daddy.


She got her Bumbo chair and was able to "sit up" for the first time.


She attended Shanti and Laura's wedding and was very well behaved and got to meet many of our law school friends.


She experienced her first cool weather as Fall began.


She was baptized on September 28, 2008 at Fox Valley Presbyterian Church. Aunt Kim and Uncle Eric stood up as her godparents.

Retrospective: Matilda 1 month old

At 1 month old Matilda began to laugh.


She smiled much more often.


She began to notice her toys.


She took a trip to Indianapolis to meet her cousin, Boston, and the rest of my family.


And she took a long drive out to South Dakota to meet Great-Grandma Shirley and her great aunts and uncles.
